Endurance Week

We're back! Sorry for the lack on post the last week and a half, I got a few messages from people asking if everything is ok. Everything is fine, just a bit of a crazy couple of weeks. I've still been swimming but have missed a couple of days after having my vaccine shot as well but now we're back and ready to go!


I'm going to be swimming two weeks of endurance work starting today so get ready for some tough sets and fast swimming. I want to put myself in a place to run some test swims at the end of it. We'll be working our 400 pace for the first week and then on to some shorter distances and longer sets for the second. I'll likely be swimming some doubles as well for the next two weeks with a little sprint work and drills, I'll probably post these as well so look out for that.


I really want to throw in an open water session this week but if not it will be next week. Likely I will pick a specific day to swim that session regularly, I was thinking to post the time and place to see if anyone can make it as well as weekly thing. Let me know if you like this idea!


The intensity is going to be very hard for the next couple of weeks so I'll be making sure I'm conscious of my sleep and fuelling habits throughout. I find especially as I get older this has a massive effect on recovery and overall feeling in the water. Endurance weeks have been stunted before for lack of sleep and recovery so making that a priority!
