TPS Focus - Week #5 26/04/21

Endurance WeekFor the most part out endurance weeks will come in 2s so we're back again running long sets but this time trying to minimise rest periods. When adjusting times try to maintain rest periods no longer than 6 seconds. Endurance training is a painful experience so try to embrace it and aim to hold times at all costs! I'm really focused on maintaining a long stroke and strong kick throughout this week. We'll be doing some long kick sets as well, feel free to use fins if you really struggle with kicking but it is important to work the kick without as well.
I'll be focused on maintaining the same level of intensity throughout the week. We are inducing fatigue before rolling it back next week and running another technique week so bear that in mind when things get tough! Remember that we train heart rate zones so think about maintaining your heart rate through the Main Sets and avoid long rests.
As always take note of the turn-around times you decide suits you best and make sure you take note of the times you hold (meaning the times you actually swim the 100s/200s etc) so we can look back and note progress.
