TPS Focus - Week #6 03/05/21

Technique WeekI was planning on doing an open water technique focus this week but the weather has been so too cold for me to be thinking about anything more than just a dip! Instead I want to use this week to swim some faster paced drill sets off the clock and push for a stronger, more balanced kick.
I'm going to ease off intensity this week and focus mainly on testing the speed of certain drills. I have a habit of swimming drills very slowly and although this is great for balancing the stroke it isn't enough to balance muscle strength across both sides of the body. I'll be swimming long easy swims in-between drill sets to maintain the feel of the water.
Don't feel you have to use the same drills I choose. We drill to expose weaknesses in the stroke and challenge them - everyones weaknesses are different. Pick drills you find hard and figure out a better way to swim them. Normally the solution to difficult drills comes from figuring out a breathing pattern to suit the drill. Bear this in mind when things get challenging.
