Endurance Week

Rolling back into an endurance week and again pushing for the longer distance swims and minimising rest periods. I'll be swimming sets of 400s and 800s and dropping in the odd 1km at pace. I want to build speed into these swims and will be matching the longer swims with some short distance bursts focusing on maintaining a stroke high on the water with a higher stroke rate than is comfortable.

This weeks intensity will be high, building on fatigue and taking it into next week. I'll also be doubling up on a couple of days make sure I'm getting the km's in.


My main focus will be getting accustomed to sitting higher on the water with a higher stroke rate and a strong kick. I’ll be very focused on times and keeping a record for future reference. I’ll be doing at least one long kick set this week and using the pull buoy and paddles quite a bit too.
